Droplet Drop

Send anything to every device around you.

Photos, videos, whole folders: Droplet Drop moves them from one device to another straight over your Wi‑Fi. Encrypted, verified, no account and no internet.

Free. Android, Windows, Mac and Linux.

Highlights.

Direct, over your network.

Files go from one device to the other without going through the internet or any server. As fast as your Wi‑Fi allows, and without touching your data plan.

A dropout loses nothing.

Wi‑Fi drops, the laptop goes to sleep? The transfer picks up exactly where it stopped, without starting over.

Verified to the last byte.

Every block received is checked against its fingerprint, then the whole file. A damaged file is never delivered: it is sent again.

Nothing arrives without your consent.

Every transfer is offered to you first. Accept, decline, or trust your own devices once and for all.

Whole folders.

Send a folder: it arrives with its subfolders, in the same order. Even very large files.

Between all your devices.

An Android phone to a Mac, a PC to a Linux laptop: everyone sees everyone.

Three moves.

  1. 1

    Choose

    Files, photos, a whole folder.

  2. 2

    Tap a device

Devices with Droplet Drop open on the same network show up on their own. If not, scan the code on their Receive screen.

  3. 3

    It’s there

The other person accepts, and the files arrive, verified, in their receiving folder.

Group Drop

A whole room, all at once.

A class, a meeting, an event: everyone scans one code, and you start when everyone is in. Each device gets its own verified copy.

  1. 1

    Create the invitation

Pick the files and how long it stays open: 30 minutes, 2 hours or 8 hours.

  2. 2

    Everyone joins

By scanning the code on screen, or with the invitation link.

  3. 3

    Start

Follow every device live. Those that disconnect pick up where they left off.

Encrypted. Verified. And no one in the middle.

Droplet Drop has no account and no transfer server: your files never leave your network. And on the network, they only travel encrypted.

  • TLS 1.3 on every connection

The protocol your bank’s website uses, between the two devices, in both directions.

  • The right device, and only that one

Each device has its own key, and a security code to check it at a glance. An impostor is refused.

  • No account

No email, no phone number, no cloud. Your history stays on your device.

Three apps. One idea.

Talk and share without depending on the network, or on anyone in the middle.

The messenger that works without a network. Your messages hop from phone to phone, over Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi, until they reach the right person. End-to-end encrypted.

Your chats, on the big screen. Link your browser to your phone with a QR code, and type on a real keyboard. This browser has its own keys: your messages stay encrypted all the way to it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the internet?

No. Both devices just need to be on the same network: the same Wi‑Fi router, or one phone’s hotspot. Nothing goes over the internet.

The other device doesn’t show up. What now?

Some networks (hotels, offices) stop devices from seeing each other. Open Receive on the other device and scan its code, or type the address shown. If it’s still blocked, one phone’s hotspot almost always solves it.

Is there a size limit?

In practice, no: up to 4 TiB and 100,000 files per transfer. The only ceiling is free space on the receiving device, checked before accepting.

What if the connection drops?

Nothing is lost. What already arrived is kept, and the transfer resumes where it stopped as soon as the two devices find each other again.

How is it related to Droplet, the messenger?

Same team, same idea: do without the network and without any middleman. Droplet Drop is a separate app with no account: you don’t need Droplet to use it.
